LONDON - A man was ordered to be detained for life yesterday for battering an elderly shopkeeper to death with a tin of carrots from his own store.

Leon Reynolds (18), unemployed, also used a tin of pet food and a cola can in the motiveless murder on May 6th last year of Mr Ratilal Patel (67) at his shop in Wimbledon, London.
