A WATERFORD man has been found guilty by a jury at the Central Criminal Court of raping and sexually assaulting a 37 year old mother of four in his house.
Mr Justice Shanley made an order prohibiting publication of the defendant's name for fear of identifying his victim. The 46 year old sales representative has been remanded in custody for sentence on November 22nd next.
The defendant had denied he committed rape under section 4 of the Criminal Law (Rape) (Amendment) Act 1990 and that he sexually assaulted her on July 17th, 1994.
