A man who named one of his companies Pear Shaped Resources was convicted yesterday of depriving his customers of €177,000.
The jury took just 62 minutes at the end of a five-day trial to convict Thomas Elvin, a small farmer with 17 acres and 20 cows, of all 26 charges against him.
Elvin, who was convicted of operating as an illegal investor and deceiving seven people of their cash between 2003 and 2005, was remanded on bail for sentence on March 27th, with a recommendation he undergo psychological assessment.
