A 23-year-old man from the Republic will appear in court in Northern Ireland today on charges in connection with a murder following his extradition last night.

Mr Philip Quigley was handed over to the RUC after the Supreme Court yesterday turned down his appeal against a recent High Court ruling ordering his extradition.

He is expected to face charges in connection with the murder of a married woman in her 30s in Newry in August 1991.
