A man was killed today after his car collided with a digger in Armagh.
The victim (36) was driving a silver Mercedes involved in the crash with a JCB on the Edenard Road, Mowhan, near Markethill. Police confirmed he was from Crossmaglen.
The driver of the digger sustained minor injuries in the accident, which brought the death toll on Northern Ireland's roads to 79 this year.
Elsewhere a woman was killed in a head-on crash in Co Wexford.
The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was the driver and sole occupant of a car that collided with another car at Ballinboole, about three kilometres from New Ross, at around 6.15pm.
The man driving the other car, also its sole occupant, was injured and was taken to Wexford General Hospital.
Last night's fatality brings to 251 the number of people killed on the State's roads so far this year.
