Gardaí from Sligo are investigating a serious stabbing incident at a house at Garavogue Villas, Sligo town overnight.
A 29-year-old man received two stab wounds and was taken to Sligo General Hospital where he is in a critical condition. Gardaí arrested a 40 year old man after the incidnet which happened at around 1 am.
He is being detained for questioning at Sligo Garda Station under Sect 4 Criminal Justice Act where he can be held for up to 24hours.
