A manager with the South-Eastern Education and Library Board was cleared yesterday of plotting to defraud the board of over £100,000 between April and September 1992.

A Belfast Crown Court judge, Mr Justice Pringle, directed the jury to acquit Mr John Gerard Doherty (46), from Greenacres, Glengormley, of 15 charges involving conspiracy to defraud and providing false accounts and information. A second man, Stephen Park (33), from Grasmere Park, Carrickfergus, is to be sentenced later for his part in the fraud.
