A 29 year old man was charged last night with the murder of a Newry man earlier this week and is to appear before a special court sitting in Banbridge, Co Down, this morning.
Three men and a woman were questioned about the death of Mr Colum Eugene Hughes (36), an unemployed man from Ardcarne Park in the Derrybeg area of Newry. Mr Hughes was found beaten to death in an alley beside a pub in the town in the early hours of Thursday morning.
