A man has been charged at Bandon District Court in connection with the death of a new age traveller whose body was found dumped in a slurry tank almost three years ago.

Joseph Barrett (23), with addresses at Coppeen and High Street, Drimoleague, west Cork, was charged with acting with intent to impede the apprehension or prosecution of another person who had murdered Englishman Garry Bull at Shanlaragh, Dunmanway, Co Cork, on September 23rd, 2007.

State solicitor for west Cork Malachy Boohig applied to have Mr Barrett returned for trial. Judge James McNulty assented and remanded Mr Barrett on his own bail of €100 and two independent sureties of €10,000.
