A man (49) has appeared in court charged with the false imprisonment of a Co Cork woman.
Oliver Hayes, of Clancool Terrace, Bandon, was charged at a special sitting of Bandon District Court with the false imprisonment of Anne Corcoran (60) at her home at Maulnaskimlehane, Kilbrittain on a date unknown between January 19st and January 21st last.
Det Garda Jim Fitzgerald gave evidence that he had arrested Mr Hayes at Weir Street in Bandon at 3.51pm today and later charged him at 4.50pm.
Mr Hayes had nothing to say in reply to the charge after caution.
Mr Hayes was granted legal aid.
No application was made for bail and the part-time painter and decorator was remanded in custody to appear at Kinsale District Court next week.
Ms Corcoran was last seen at her home outside Bandon over two weeks ago.
