Ukranian national Mr Demitrio Beziaicoff (28) from Phibsborough in Dublin was arrested yesterday in Dublin Airport after arriving on a flight from Paris.

Mr Beziaicoff was remanded in custody until April 3rd, when he will appear again.

He is the first person to be charged under the Human Trafficking Act 2000. The Act covers those who would knowingly facilitate or organise entry to the State of illegal immigrants or persons seeking asylum.
