A man has been charged in connection with the death of a Dublin man whose body was discovered in Co Offaly nearly six years ago.
Gardaí investigating the murder of Paul Ryan, Grangemore Lawns, Donaghmede, Dublin 13, was found murdered at Coolderry, Birr, Co Offaly on April 12th 2003,
A statement from the Garda press office today said a man had been charged "with an offence in connection with the murder".
John O'Hanlon of Millwood, Kilbarrack, Dublin 5, appeared at Cloverhill District Court this morning where he was remanded in custody until the January 23rd to the same court.
"This investigation was carried out by the Serious Crime Review Team which was established in March 2007 and was tasked with reviewing unsolved murders in the State since 1980," a Garda spokesman said.
The remains of the Mr Ryan were found at the side of a road. His hands were tied behind his back and he had been shot in the head.
