A MAN from west Belfast was charged yesterday following the seizure of £420,000 worth of ecstasy tablets the biggest ever haul of the drug in the North.
Mr Francis Mackin (44), a self employed electrician of no fixed address, was charged with possessing an unspecified number of ecstasy tablets and having them with intent to supply.
A detective inspector in the RUC Drugs Squad told Belfast Magistrates Court he believed he could connect Mr Mackin to the charges.
Mr Mackin did not apply for bail and he was remanded in custody until June 7th.

The charges followed the seizure of 28,000 tablets at Belfast docks on Wednesday.
Police found the drugs when they stopped and searched a car at Donegall Quay after it had come off a ferry.
