Man assaulted in Belfast

A man has been injured after he distrubed two would-be car thieves outside his south Belfast home.

A man has been injured after he distrubed two would-be car thieves outside his south Belfast home.

The incident happened at 6am on Christmas Day in Myrtlefield Park off the Lisburn Road.

The victim of the attack was woken by the two men believed to be in their twenties.

When he approached them they hit him in the face before running off and jumping into a waiting black car, which is thought to have a taxi sign.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
