Man admits to having shotgun

A Dublin man has admitted having a shotgun during an attack on travellers two years ago.

A Dublin man has admitted having a shotgun during an attack on travellers two years ago.

Thomas Bacon (32), of Laurel Avenue, Ballybrack, pleaded guilty in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to unlawful possession of a shotgun at Leopardstown Road, Dublin, on April 8th, 1996.

He also admitted causing criminal damage to a caravan and a van owned by two travellers on the same date.

Defence counsel Mr Niall Durnin BL, said his client had a serious alcohol problem at the time, which he was now dealing with.

Judge Kelly adjourned the case with bail to March 4th.
