A Co Kildare man has pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court to raping a woman over three years ago.
John Joe Hubbock (34), of Prusselstown, Athy, admitted raping the 33 year old woman at Dublin Street, Kildare, on September 27th, 1992. He also pleaded guilty to assault, occasioning her actual bodily harm, on the same date. He was remanded in custody until March 7th.
Mr Justice Kinlen said that the guilty plea was a great relief to the victim. The woman was present in court and he advised her to go away and get on with her life.
