A man charged with robbing an elderly brother and sister of £29,000 last February was returned for trial to Galway Circuit Court when he appeared at the district court yesterday.
Mr John Edward Duffy, from Lissanacody, Eyrecourt, Co Galway, is charged with robbing Mr Michael Moran (78) and his sister, Eileen (76), of £29,000 in cash after their home was broken into on February 14th. Mr Duffy and a co-accused, who did not turn up after being granted bail by the High Court, were arrested in Galway city the day after the robbery when they went on a shopping spree.
