A man is being treated in hospital for gunshot wounds today after a late-night incident in Limerick.

A man is being treated in hospital for gunshot wounds today after a late-night incident in Limerick.

Gardai at Roxboro Road are investigating the shooting which happened at Rosbrien at 11.15 last night.

A man in his 40s was shot after he went outside his house after a brick had been thrown through his window.

Whne he stepped outside, one of two youths discharged two shots from a firearm, one of which hit the man in his back.

He was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital where his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

There have been no arrests to date and the investigation in on-going.
