A man has been remanded in custody for sentence after he was found guilty yesterday of raping a woman when he dragged her into a field in Cork in May last year.
The man (25) was found guilty by unanimous verdict of falsely imprisoning, sexually assaulting and attempting to rape the woman, while he was found guilty by a majority 10-two verdict of oral rape.
Mr Justice Paul Carney adjourned sentencing until May 23rd next to allow for a preparation of a victim impact statement and he remanded the man in custody until then.
