Detectives were today questioning a 15 year-old about serious head injuries sustained by a teenager thought to have jumped 20 feet from a footbridge to avoid a fight.
The 18-year-old man was in Lanyon Place at around 9.30pm with three friends when they were confronted by four youths.
Police believe he jumped from the bridge to escape a struggle.
He fell 20 feet onto East Bridge Street, injuring his head and sustaining other injuries.
