Tommy Lyons remains in the Blackrock Clinic undergoing tests today but the Dublin manager is expected to return in time for his side’s quarter-final replay with Donegal.

The 42-year-old was taken to hospital at the weekend suffering from stomach pains and was forced to watch yesterday’s drawn game from his sick bed in south Dublin.

But with the replay doubled-header pencilled in for headquarters on Saturday week - the GAA are not expected to confirm the date until tomorrow - the Dublin board are confident Lyons will be back on the sidelines.

"Everyone is wishing Tommy well and we fully expect him back on the sideline the next day," said Dublin county secretary John Costello.

Paul Caffrey, a team selector, deputised for Lyons at Croke Park yesterday but Lyons will be keen to once again call the shots as he attempts to set up a semi-final showdown with the winners of the Sligo and Armagh rematch.
