Liberians hurt in plane accident leaving talks

One passenger said none of the injuries appeared to belife-threatening.

Several delegates to Liberianpeace talks in Ghana were hurt today when the plane meantto carry them home to war-ruined Liberia failed to take off andits undercarriage collapsed, airport officials said. On board the Ghana Air Force plane were 44 people from talksbetween the government and rebel factions. Delegates signed apeace deal on Monday and early today named businessmanMr Gyude Bryant as head of a two-year transition government.

The accident forced the closure of Ghana's internationalairport while the plane sat on its belly in the middle of therunway.
