Miami - A Florida man has sued Ms Monica Lewinsky for the millions of tax dollars spent investigating her liaison with President Bill Clinton, a federal court confirmed yesterday.
In court documents, Mr George Berry (59) claims Ms Lewinsky owes him $100,000 in compensatory damages and $40 million more for the money spent by independent counsel Mr Kenneth Starr's office investigating the affair.
The investigation into Mr Clinton's 18-month affair with Ms Lewinsky and the subsequent impeachment trial were expected to cost upwards of $50 million, much of it paid by US taxpayers. The documents did not explain how the Hollywood resident calculated the amount of compensatory damages.
