Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale and his fellow directors were meeting again today to finally decide on the man they want to be their new manager.

It is then expected they will begin the procedure of making an approach to the preferred candidate.

Leeds, however, through their website refute claims they have already interviewed former England coach Terry Venables.

The club have also dismissed reports they have been snubbed by Guus Hiddink, who is poised to take over at PSV Eindhoven.

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill and Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy are understood to be the main names in the frame at Elland Road to replace David O'Leary.

Chairman Peter Ridsdale said: "I have been talking to board members again and we will continue to make sure we get the best possible candidate for the football club."
