A man was arrested today for questioning about the murder of a Catholic taxi driver in Co Tyrone. He is believed to be a leading republican.

Mr Barney McDonald (51) was shot dead in his taxi in Donaghmore on Wednesday night.

Mr McDonald’s family have blamed the Provisional IRA for the killing, saying he had been involved in a row with a member of the organisation a week before his death.

The funeral of the County Tyrone man was held today.
