Taoiseach Bertie Ahern's former partner Celia Larkin will not now be giving evidence to the Mahon tribunal until September.

Tribunal chairman Judge Alan Mahon yesterday acceded to a request from Ms Larkin's solicitor, Hugh Millar, that his client not be called until all the witnesses from AIB had finished giving their evidence.

Ms Larkin was due to give evidence today.

The bank witnesses are unlikely to finish giving their evidence by tomorrow, after which there will be no further public sittings of the tribunal until September.
