Customs officials have seized €70,000 worth of cocaine which was discovered in a man’s shoes at Dublin Airport.
Officers from Revenue's Customs Service arrested a South African national in connection with the incident.
The customs officers discovered 1kg of cocaine concealed in the soles of the footwear.
The man was arrested and handed over to Ballymun Garda Drug Squad. He appeared in the Dublin District Court at the Bridewell on Monday and was remanded in custody to appear again at Cloverhill Court on Friday.
