Kevin Kilbane was forced to sit out this morning's Republic of Ireland training session ahead of Wednesday's Euro 2004 qualifier against Albania in Tirana.

The Sunderland winger was still recovering from a groin strain and took no chances ahead the crucial qualifier. Gary Doherty was another concern after reporting a slight ankle injury yesterday but the big hitman still managed to get through today's training.

Brian Kerr's men left for Tirana from Tbilisi - where they were based for the Georgia game - today where it is expected Robbie Keane will join up with the rest of his teammates.

Keane missed Saturday's 2-1 victory over Georgia because he was spending time back home in Ireland following the death of his father on Monday.
