A woman's claim for up to £30,000 damages was described by Judge Liam Devally in Dublin Circuit Civil Court yesterday as blatantly dishonest, shameless and bogus.

He told Mrs Ann McDonagh, of Rathmin ton Close, Tallaght, Dublin, she had lied to her solicitor and counsel before lying under oath in the witness box before him. "You have a history of previous claims and a selective inability to remember them until confronted with the facts," he said.

Mrs McDonagh had sued Gael Linn Teo over injuries to her lower back from a fall at a bingo session in Ballyfermot a year ago.
