PORTLAND - A US federal judge refused to order the destruction of a tape recording made in a jail of a conversation between a triple murder suspect and a Catholic priest.
The fact that the tape bore on the cases of two murder suspects outweighed the Catholic church's interest in having it destroyed, US District Judge Owen Panner said in court in Portland, Oregon, last night.
