Cairo - An Egyptian court has jailed two journalists for two years for publishing obscene photographs. The court for misdemeanours convicted the editor-in-chief of the weekly al-Muwajaha newspaper, Waheed Ghazi, and a reporter, Hossam Wahballah, of publishing the nude photographs.

Defence lawyers for the two men said the pictures were published for a scientific article and were not intended to have sexual overtones.
