An Irishman has become the second winner of the British gameshow "Big Brother".

An Irishman has become the second winner of the British gameshow "Big Brother".

Brian Dowling, from Rathangan, Co Kildare, has walked away with the £70,000 sterling prize and offers of television contracts reportedly flooding in.

Seven million viewers of the Channel 4 series voted in the popularity contest - Dowling received four million votes, twice as many as the competition's runner Wales's Helen Adams.
