An Irish peace activist has been released by the Israeli military this morning after being held overnight.

An Irish peace activist has been released by the Israeli military this morning after being held overnight.

Mr Terry McNeill (40) was arrested yesterday along with 40 other members of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) near the West Bank village of Mas'ha.

The group were arrested following a protest at the destruction of a Palestinian's house in the path of a wall being built around the West Bank.

Along with the Mr McNeill, 11 Americans, eight Italians, six British and five Israelis were arrested in the group of more than 40 arrested.

All have now been released. One member of the groups is to be deported. All the others have been instructed not to enter the occupied territories for the rest of their stay in the region.
