The winner of the €5.8m Lotto jackpot which was won in Limerick over the weekend has yet to come forward.

The winning ticket, a €5 Quickpick, was sold in the General Post Office (GPO) on Cecil Street in Limerick city on Saturday. The winning tickets were 4, 16, 18, 24, 32, 35 and the bonus number was 46.

There have been reports that a Dublin-based garda syndicate may be the lucky winners.

A spokesman for the National Lottery said “the winner or winners have not made contact with the National Lottery over the weekend so we are unable to comment on any rumours - as they are just that until we hear from the winner”.

Dermot Griffin, CEO of the National Lottery said: “We’re advising all of our Limerick Lotto players to check their tickets this morning to find out if they have won this life-changing prize.

“If you are the lucky ticket holder or holders, sign the back of the ticket and contact the National Lottery Prize Claims Team on 01-836444.

“I am looking forward to welcoming the winner into the Winners Room in Lotto HQ soon.”
