Gardaí are investigating after a pedestrian was killed in a road traffic collision on Friday.

The incident occurred on the N62 at Clongur, Thurles, Co Tipperary at 9.40pm.

The man, who was in his late thirties, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Clonmel Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The road at the scene remains closed to facilitate an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
