Gardaí are investigating the death of a man who was hit by a vehicle in Co Louth on Wednesday.
The incident happened on the N51 Slane Road near Drogheda.
The pedestrian, who was in his 40s, was struck by a SUV at about 10.20pm.
He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The road was closed while an examination was carried out by a Garda forensic team.
