A suicide car bomb attack targeting Iraq's environment minister killed four of her bodyguards in Baghdad today.

A suicide car bomb attack targeting Iraq's environment minister killed four of her bodyguards in Baghdad today.

A separate explosion in the capital near the education minister's convoy killed one bodyguard, police and government officials said.

Environment Minister Mishkat Moumin said she was not wounded by the suicide attack. US troops at the scene said 10 to 15 people were wounded in the blast.

An Interior Ministry spokesman said Education Minister Sami al-Mudhaffar was targeted in a separate blast, suspected to be caused by a roadside bomb. Police said he was unhurt.

One of Mr Mudhaffar's bodyguards said two people had been killed and three wounded.
