Irish software company Iona Technologies announced today it will cut 175 jobs worldwide including 30 in Dublin as part of a reorganisation after a number of recent acquisitions.

A company spokesperson said the job cuts would be across all of the company units. Iona employ over 1,200 people worldwide following the recent acquisition of US software company Netfish for $270 million.

The spate of recent purchases has led to an overlap in the work performed by the group's different units, the spokesperson told ireland.com.
