Iarnrod Eireann is investigating an accident in which a man was seriously injured when he was hit by a train in Limerick on Friday night.

The accident occurred about 150 yards on the Ennis side of the Lower Park level crossing in Corbally, at about 9.25 p.m. The victim, Mr Kieran Douglas, in his 30s, of Sarsfield Gardens, Moyross, is in intensive care in Limerick Regional Hospital.
