India beat England by six wickets in their triangular series one-day international at Lord's today.

Rahul Dravid was 73 not out and Yuvraj Singh 64 not out as India won with seven balls to spare, the pair sharing an unbroken stand of 131 as the tourists finished on 272 for four in reply to England's 271 for five.

Yuvraj was also the pick of the Indian attack, the 20-year-old's left-arm spin yielding three for 39.

India were well on course at 109 without loss but then lost three quick wickets for nine runs.

Left-arm spinner Ashley Giles removed both Virender Sehwag (71) and fellow opener, India captain Sourav Ganguly (43), on his way to three for 39.

But it was medium-pacer Ronnie Irani who captured the prize wicket of Sachin Tendulkar, lbw for just one.

Earlier England opener Marcus Trescothick top scored with 84, England captain Nasser Hussain's 54 the other major contribution.

This was India's first match of the series while England made it one win from two after their 44 run victory over Sri Lanka in Thursday's tournament opener at Trent Bridge.

India play Sri Lanka at The Oval on Sunday.
