Road deaths trial adjourned to January
The trial of a man accused of manslaughter following the deaths of two people in a road traffic collision in Dundalk has been adjourned to January by Dundalk Circuit Criminal Court. John Woods (38), Upper Fathom Road, Newry, Co Down, also faces a charge of dangerous driving causing the deaths of Éamonn Curran and Kevin O'Malley in February 2005. The trial heard yesterday that a stay had been granted by the High Court as Mr Woods was seeking a judicial review.
Man admits assaults on girls
A 60-year-old Dundalk man has pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting three girls more than 20 years ago.
At Dundalk Circuit Court yesterday the man, who is in custody, admitted six offences between 1984 and 1989. Judge Michael O'Shea adjourned sentencing to allow for victim impact reports to be prepared.
Child porn case adjourned
The case against a Louth man charged with possessing still images and video files of child pornography has been adjourned. Barry Watters (31), Bay Estate, Dundalk, faces a single count under the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act.
Gardaí seek bike crash witnesses
Gardaí in Castlebar are investigating a fatal traffic collision at Derin Bridge, Partry, Co Mayo. The single- vehicle crash involved a motorcyclist in his 30s and is believed to have happened on Monday afternoon on the Partry-Killawalla road.
Gardaí are asking witnesses to contact Castlebar Garda station on 094-903 8200.
