The IMPACT trade union is donating £15,000 to the victims of Hurricane Mitch in Central America. The union's central executive committee decided yesterday to divert the money from its usual use for long-term development projects in the Third World.
Since 1981 IMPACT members have donated over £1 million to development projects.
