MS Guerin's husband, Mr Graham Turley, a building contractor, was working on the renovation of a house close to his own home in north Co Dublin at the time his wife was shot dead.
His son, Cathal, who is on his school holidays, was with his father.
A garda from Coolock station broke the news of the death to her husband around 2 p.m. At that time Cathal had gone to a nearby shop for a few minutes. Members of her family were informed shortly afterwards.
