Husband kills himself, children

London - An anguished father was found hanged at a beauty spot near to his three dead children after his wife started an affair with a college lecturer she met at the Alton Towers theme park, an inquest heard yesterday. Steven Carter (36) told his wife Teresa he would hire a hit man to kill her lover Jason Spooner unless she stopped seeing him, North Staffordshire's Coroner's Court was told. The former factory manager was found hanging from a tree by a car tow rope at Weaver Hills, Staffordshire, in August last year. The children, aged seven, four, and three, were found dead in their father's fume filled car.
