Robbers attacked a cash van in northern England operated by Securitas, police and media said today.
Up to £1 million was taken in the robbery in Warrington, Cheshire, media reports quoted Securitas as saying.
A company spokesman said "between a few and several hundreds of thousands of pounds" were stolen.
Security guards with the van were unharmed in the attack, which took place at around 8.15 pm last night. Raiders used a low loader truck to block the van and then rammed it with a tractor to smash open the back doors, the Daily Mirrorreported.
Securitas was targeted in Britain's biggest cash robbery during an armed depot raid last month. Police have arrested 17 people and charged five over the raid at the Securitas depot in Tonbridge, Kent, southeast England, last month, when £53 million was taken.
