A 105-year-old woman had bricks thrown through the windows of her home during disturbances in north Belfast this evening.

A 105-year-old woman had bricks thrown through the windows of her home during disturbances in north Belfast this evening.

Police were called to the disturbances shortly after 7 p.m. in the Oldpark area of the city. A spokeswoman said four homes were attacked with paint bombs and Cliftondene Gardens, and Cliftondene Crescent.

The elderly woman's house was attacked with four bricks which smashed two windows. Police say she was uninjured but badly shaken.

Police reported the area quiet at 9.30 p.m.
