Reports of hospital documents being dumped at a bonfire site in the Crumlin/Dolphin’s Barn area of Dublin are being investigated by the Garda this evening.

Local reports suggest that at least two men took a number of plastic bags from a van and dumped them on a bonfire.

The Garda have confirmed that two boxes thought to be containing documents relating to a hospital are being examined. It is not thought there was any surgical waste dumped.

Last week, surgical matter including syringes and blood-smeared swabs and bandages was discovered on two site in Co Wicklow. Correspondence and other documentation from at least two Dublin hospitals was also found among the dumped material.
