Hortense heads for the Bahamas

PUERTO RICO - Hurricane Hortense headed for the Bahamas yesterday, but not before dropping more rain on Puerto Rico where floodwaters already had taken at least nine lives. By the afternoon, Hortense had strengthened to a category 2 hurricane with sustained winds up to 105 m.p.h.
