Tim Henman steered Britain back into the Davis Cup World Group qualifiers in Luxembourg today.

The British number one beat Gilles Muller 7-6 (7-2) 6-2 6-1 to gain an unassailable 3-1 lead in the Euro-Africa Zone match.

It was Henman's third win of the weekend but he had to overcome a rocky start to achieve it.

Muller broke Henman in the fourth game of the first set and later fashioned two set points on his opponent's serve.

Henman was guilty of a number of unforced errors but squeezed back to force the tie-break which he won 7-2.

From then on it was plain sailing for the world number eight against an opponent ranked 147 places beneath him in the rankings.
