The Green Party TD, Trevor Sargent, has appealed to the Tanaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Spring, to provide emergency financial help to an Irish man in a coma in an Ecuador hospital costing, $1,000 a day.
Mr Ken Cannon (36) from Balbriggan, Dublin, was working in South America when he was robbed and beaten up. His family now fear that they will have to sell their house to meet the bills.
Mr Sargent said donations can be sent to account number 03344036 in the Balbriggan branch of AIB.
